Across is a server-client based enterprise translation management system. Enterprises use it for managing their translation and localization workflows, and language service providers mostly use the system as vendors.
Use cases:
BeLazy supports integration with Across through a comprehensive connector that enables seamless translation project management. BeLazy connects Across with any business management system or tracker, and allows:
- Task listing with all details, including analysis and workflow information,
- Project creation in a business management system or tracker,
- Linguist assignment monitoring in Across, and reassigning linguists in the business management system or tracker,
- Linguist assignment monitoring in the business management system or tracker, and reassigning linguists in Across,
- Delivery monitoring in Across, and closing the corresponding jobs in the business management system or tracker.
Integration type:
The Across integration uses the CrossWeb browser interface to impersonate users through the internal APIs used in the client-server communication. Standard username/password authentication is supported. 2-factor authentication is not available.
Requirements:
You only need your CrossWeb username and password.
If you are a vendor to an Across user, the server-client communication does not happen completely automatically, you need to start the synchronization. Contact Across for information on the MDRtracker module that they can install. With the MDRtracker, projects from clients get automatically downloaded to your Across server, and as a result, they are immediately visible for BeLazy on CrossWeb.
Expected URL format:
The URL format depends on your Across CrossWeb instance. For most installations, the format is: https://your-server/crossweb/
where your-server is your Across instance hostname. Contact your Across administrator and request access to CrossWeb if you need assistance with the correct URL format.
Across-specific configuration:
The first page of the Across integration allows you to upload information about your vendors. By default, BeLazy downloads vendors, and allows you full mapping, however, there have been instances of timeout. You can continue with an empty JSON array, just leave the dialog as it is, and click Next. If later you have problems with the vendor assignments, you can come back to this once you got in touch with BeLazy's support.
Functionalities and connector-specific information:
- Unit of acceptance: Task (one workflow step for one document per target language). BeLazy extracts information about the workflow that the task is part of, and you can use this information to recreate the original projects in your business management system or tracker using bundling.
- Multiple target languages: Supported - each target language creates separate BeLazy projects.
- Specialization, End Client, Workflow, detailed Analysis: Extracted from project metadata and master data reports (MDR).
- Project exclusion: Supported
- Download files: Attachment file download supported, XLIFF download/upload not available
- Delivery: Manual delivery monitoring, task completion tracking in Across, business management system or tracker projects automatically closed based on Across job status
- Linguist assignment: Supported - project managers can assign linguists to tasks, but linguists must accept assignments
- Linguist monitoring: Supported - Across linguists can be assigned to business management system users
- Vendor creation: Not supported
- 2-factor authentication: Not supported
- Pricing: Across does not provide pricing information
- Custom workflows: Full support for organization-specific workflow configurations
